Summit: US to test Pres. Jonathan’s aides, other Africans for Ebola
There are reports that the US is planning to screen a delegation from
Nigeria and other affected African countries billed to attend the
African/American
Leaders Summit on Monday August 4th in Washington DC, for exposure to
Ebola. According to Reuters, president Obama said some African
participants will be screened because it's important that they protect
US from the outbreak.
"Folks who are from these countries that have even a marginal risk, or an infinitesimal risk of having been exposed in some fashion, we’re making sure we’re doing screening.” Obama said.
According to Punch, President Jonathan is among the African leaders
expected to attend the event and he will be going with his aides. Even
though there's no Ebola outbreak in Nigeria, a Liberian man died here
from the virus so president Jonathan's aides will likely be screened
when they arrive the US
The presidents of two Ebola affected countries, Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf of Sierre Leone and Ernest BaiKoroma
of Liberia, have said they will not be attending the summit. Continue...
Ebola has been blamed for some 729 deaths in Liberia, Sierra Leone and
Guinea. Dubai's Emirates Airlines has even suspended all flights to
Guinea over Ebola.
Meanwhile, above is how an American doctor affected with Ebola arrived
the US yesterday. Dr Kent Brentley (pictured right), one of two US
doctors infected with the Ebola Virus arrived at a university hospital
in Atlanta, Georgia, which is one of the four institutions in the US
equipped to handle such cases. He was flown in from Liberia in a special
medical plane. He and another female doctor were in Liberia to help
combat Ebola when they contracted the deadly disease. Same medical plane
will return to Liberia to pick up the other doctor

Heartbreak is something that has to do with an individual, if you think
your heart can be broken then it can be broken. When did you start
dating?

Herdsmen Attack Christian Worshippers In Southern Kaduna
Our source said security operatives, who arrived on the scene
following a tip-off, had rushed the wounded worshippers to a hospital in
the local area. “There would have been more dead people at that church
today if we did not intervene as quickly as we did,” the security source
said. He added that security agents were determined to identify those
who planned and launched today’s attack in order to arrest them.
Women in Southern Kaduna after a mass killing
Armed herdsmen this morning attacked
worshippers in a Catholic Church during Mass in a village known as
Ungwan Powpow in Kachia local government of Kaduna State. A security
source in the area confirmed the attack, adding that one worshipper was
killed on the spot and three others sustained serious gunshot wounds
before the attackers retreated.The site of the attack is located in the violence-prone southern part of Kaduna State where Fulani herdsmen frequently descend on residents of different communities in feuds that sometimes have to do with disputes over cattle grazing or religious differences.
A community source told SaharaReporters that members of his group were tired of the incessant attacks by the herdsmen, adding that the security agents must go after the attackers to avert a further deterioration of the climate of insecurity and violence.

Ooni of Ife: ”Why I Want Iyiola Omisore To Be The Next Osun Governor” + Photos of Jonathan At PDP Rally In Oshogbo
The Ooni of Ife, His Royal Majesty, Oba Okunade Sijuwade, has told President Goodluck Jonathan how the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the August 9 governorship election in Osun State, Senator Iyiola Omisore sacrificed running for the governorship of the state twice.
The
Ooni disclosed this when President Jonathan led a delegation of
national officers of the PDP to the Ooni’s palace in Ile-Ife on a
courtesy visit.
According
to the monarch, in 1999, former Attorney-General and Minister of
Justice, Chief Bola Ige, had called on him (Ooni) to advise Senator
Iyiola Omisore to serve as the running mate to Chief Bisi Akande, asking
him to urge traditional rulers in the state to support Akande. In
Ooni’s words, “His message was well delivered and when I called Senator
Iyiola Omisore, he did not argue with me, but rather prostrated and
said “God’s time is the best.” In 2003, “They said I should call him
again and appeal to him to step aside in the meantime.
And
when I called this young man to appeal to him, he did not argue with me
but prostrated and said ‘Kabiyesi, God’s time would always be the
best.’”
